All European Champions of the Season: Who Has Already Been Crowned?

Posted on: 05/13/2026

The 2025/26 season is drawing to a close, and many European leagues have already determined their winners. Across the continent, there are 54 top-flight championships, with 42 following the autumn-spring format. By the time summer arrives, this gallery will showcase 42 champions, and 25 of them are already known.

**Azerbaijan: Sabah (1st title)**

Yes, it wasn’t Qarabag but a club from the town of Masazir that claimed the trophy, finishing more than ten points ahead of the favorites. This marks Sabah’s first championship, while Qarabag still leads with 12 titles. Neftchi has nine.

**Andorra: Inter Escaldes (5th title)**

They defended their crown and celebrated for the fifth time since 2020. Only Santa Coloma has more titles with 13.

**Bulgaria: Levski (27th title)**

What a surprise: in Bulgaria, the champion is not Ludogorets, who had dominated for the previous 14 seasons. Levski not only ended the hegemony but also finished nearly 20 points ahead. This is their first title since 2009. Only Sofia CSKA has more trophies, with four additional titles.

**Bosnia and Herzegovina: Borac Banja Luka (4th title)**

The club celebrated its 100th anniversary in style, pulling far ahead of defending champions Zrinjski. Borac has now won half of the last six seasons. However, in total titles, they trail Sarajevo (five), Željezničar (six), and Zrinjski (nine).

**Germany: Bayern Munich (35th title)**

With Vincent Kompany at the helm, they secured the title four rounds before the end, scoring 117 goals in 33 matches. This is their 13th championship in the last 14 seasons. Catching Bayern’s total seems impossible: the next closest clubs are Nürnberg with nine and Borussia Dortmund with eight. Bayern’s attack is among the best in football history.

**Gibraltar: Lincoln (6th or 30th title)**

Unsurprisingly, Lincoln did it again, with 23 wins in 27 games and 89 goals. St Joseph’s actually scored 96 (both conceded 17) but finished nine points behind. In the new Gibraltar league (since 2019/20), Lincoln has won six of seven seasons, adding to 24 titles from the old format. They lead with 30 overall.

**Greece: AEK (14th title)**

Marco Nikolic’s team clinched it two rounds early, finishing eight points ahead of PAOK and Olympiacos. AEK last won in 2023, and this is only their third title in the last 32 seasons. Olympiacos remains far ahead with 48 titles, followed by Panathinaikos (20) and AEK (14).

**Denmark: Aarhus (6th title)**

They edged out Midtjylland with one round to go. This is Aarhus’s sixth championship, but their first since 1986 and only the second in 65 years. Copenhagen (16) and Brøndby (11) still hold comfortable leads.

**Spain: Barcelona (29th title)**

They secured the trophy three rounds before the end, and in a Clásico no less. This is Barcelona’s second consecutive title and third in four seasons. They now have 29 championships, 18 more than Atlético Madrid, but still seven behind Real Madrid.

**Italy: Inter Milan (21st title)**

Under Cristian Chivu, Inter won three rounds early, finishing 12 points ahead of Napoli. Chivu became champion with Inter as both a player and a coach. This is the club’s second title in three seasons. Inter leads Milan (19) by a narrow margin, with Juventus (36) still ahead.

**Cyprus: Omonia (22nd title)**

Omonia surpassed AEK Larnaca (with Aleksandr Kokorin) and Pafos (without Juan Carlos Carcedo) and everyone else, winning for the first time in six seasons. Interestingly, each of those six seasons had a different Cypriot champion. Omonia now has 22 titles, second only to APOEL’s 29.

**Kosovo: Drita (5th title)**

They finished 11 points ahead of main rival Ballkani, winning their first title since 2020. Drita now has five championships, while Prisht
