FC Red Bull Salzburg turned their Sunday fixture into a meaningful fundraising effort. While participants around the globe joined the Wings for Life World Run 2026, the team took a different approach at the Raiffeisen Arena. For every kilometer their players covered during the match against LASK, the club contributed €100 to the Wings for Life Foundation—an organization dedicated entirely to spinal cord research with the goal of finding a cure for spinal cord injuries.
Although the result on the pitch fell short of expectations, the distance covered told a different story. The team clocked a total of 121.93 kilometers during the game, surpassing last year’s mark of €11,300. This year’s tally means €12,200 will be donated to the cause.
