Spanish tennis saw three wins and one loss at the Rome Masters on Tuesday. Martin Landaluce was the only Spaniard eliminated, falling to Andrea Pellegrino after two hours and 15 minutes (6-3, 2-6, 6-2). Pablo Carreño advanced after Stan Wawrinka retired early in their match. Daniel Mérida Aguilar defeated Chilean Tomas Barrios in three sets (6-3, 3-6, 7-6). Pablo Llamas Ruiz overcame Jaime Faria in an all-Spanish duel that lasted nearly two hours, winning 3-6, 6-2, 6-3. 
Earlier, Novak Djokovic was seen practicing on the Rome courts Tuesday morning. The day’s schedule included Carreño vs. Wawrinka and Mérida vs. Barrios, both starting at 10:00 local time. Llamas Ruiz and Faria took the court at 17:10. Stay tuned for more updates as the Rome Open continues.
