When Harry Maguire signed a new contract with Manchester United this month, the experienced England defender took his name off the list of potential free agents this summer. Several high-profile Premier League players have already announced they will leave when their deals expire, including Manchester City captain Bernardo Silva, Liverpool’s Andy Robertson, Newcastle United’s Kieran Trippier, and Maguire’s teammate Casemiro. However, the futures of many other senior stars remain unclear, with fewer than five weeks left in the league season.

Mikel Arteta has little to worry about in terms of expiring deals. The only player out of contract is Estonia goalkeeper Karl Hein, 24, who made his sole senior appearance for the Gunners in a 2022 League Cup fixture. Hein has been on loan at Werder Bremen this season, following similar spells at Reading and Real Valladolid.

Unai Emery faces no immediate contract concerns, with all first-team players under contract until at least 2027. There was speculation that Ross Barkley, 32, would be out of contract this summer, but it is understood the former England midfielder signed a three-year deal when he joined from Luton Town in July 2024.

Head coach Andoni Iraola will definitely leave the Vitality Stadium in a few weeks. His replacement, Marco Rose, is likely to push hard to keep defender Marcos Senesi in Dorset. The impressive Argentine, 28, has started every league game this season except one (for which he was suspended), but has already rejected three new offers from the Cherries amid reported interest from Juventus and several Premier League clubs. Third-choice keeper Fraser Forster, 38, has not featured for Bournemouth since signing a six-month deal in January.

Brentford boss Keith Andrews can avoid losing a significant amount of Premier League experience by triggering a trio of contract extensions. Jamaica left-back Rico Henry, 28, who has delivered some sparkling displays as the Bees push for Europe, has an option to extend his stay by another year
